Cost per foot, installed
Your exact number depends on your yard. That's what the call is for.
Any number we put here would be wrong for your yard. A 120 ft wood fence on flat ground and a 120 ft wood fence on a slope full of roots can be hundreds of dollars apart. Sites that post a "$X per foot" price usually add to it later. We'd rather give you a real number for your line. One call does that.
Fixing, not replacing?
Repairs often cost a fraction of a replacement. Tell us what's broken and we'll tell you which one makes sense.
No forms, no waiting
Getting a fence quoted in Anderson County takes one phone call. Here is exactly what follows it.
There is no call center here. The person who picks up is part of the crew that will be standing in your yard. Tell us roughly how much fence you need, what it is for and which town you are in. That is enough for a ballpark price on the call, and to book a free visit for the exact number.
Usually within a couple of days, anywhere in Anderson County or Greenville County. We walk the line, check the slope and the ground, and find your pins before the exact number gets written up.
A real number for your yard, in writing, with no deposit to get it and nothing owed if you pass. Storm damage and yards left standing open go to the front of the list.

Anderson County fence contractors
If you are looking for a fence company in Anderson, SC, you are probably comparing three quotes that all say roughly the same thing. Here is what separates them: post depth, post spacing, how the concrete is set, and whether anyone walked your actual yard before writing the number.
Anderson Fence Company has been building fences across the Upstate since 2018. We install wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminum and ornamental steel, we repair the fences other people built, and we work on residential yards and commercial property alike. Everything is quoted on site, in person, for free.
Anderson County is home to 203,718 people and Greenville County to another 525,534, and between them the ground changes a lot. A fence on red Piedmont clay behind a Powdersville subdivision is a different job from a fence on a sloped Lake Hartwell lot or a pasture line out toward Starr. We price and build for the yard in front of us, not for an average.

Thirty seven services, from a single sagging gate to a full commercial perimeter. These are the ones people ask for most.

Material choice drives cost, lifespan and how much maintenance lands on you later. Here is how each one actually behaves in Upstate South Carolina.
Cedar and pressure treated southern yellow pine, built board by board on site rather than dropped in as prefab panels. Cedar carries its own oils and resists rot and insects without chemical treatment. Pressure treated pine costs less and needs a ground contact rating at the posts. Either way the failure point is almost always the post, not the pickets, so we set posts in concrete with the hole crowned to shed water rather than hold it.
48 inches of rain a yearFalls on Anderson, ten inches above the national average of 38. Wood that sits in a wet post hole rots from the bottom up, which is why post prep matters more here than material grade.
Heavy wall vinyl privacy and picket panels that never need staining, sealing or painting. Vinyl handles Upstate humidity without cupping or splitting, and the white and tan finishes stay bright because the color runs through the material instead of sitting on top of it. The trade is up front cost and the need for properly sized posts, since a vinyl panel catches wind like a sail.
Zero refinishingOver the life of the fence. A wood fence in this climate wants stain roughly every two to three years, and that recurring labor is what closes the gap on vinyl's higher starting price.
Galvanized or black vinyl coated chain link for back yards, dog runs, side lots and property lines. It is the fastest fence we install and the lowest cost per linear foot, and the black coated version disappears into a tree line far better than most people expect. We size the pipe and the fabric gauge to the job rather than defaulting to the lightest residential kit.
Most searched fence in AndersonChain link queries are the single largest non brand source of people finding this business online, which tells us a lot about what the Upstate actually buys.
Powder coated aluminum will not rust, rot or need refinishing, and it is the usual answer for front yards, pool enclosures and any neighborhood with an architectural committee. Ornamental steel is heavier, takes finials, scrolls and custom arches, and suits older homes where a thin aluminum picket would look wrong. Both rack to follow a slope instead of stepping down it.
Racks to 20 degreesOn most residential aluminum systems, which means a sloped Upstate lot gets a fence that follows the grade instead of leaving triangular gaps under every panel.
South Carolina builds to the International Residential Code, and a residential pool barrier has real requirements: minimum height, no climbable gaps, and a gate that closes and latches itself. We build pool enclosures to that standard in aluminum, vinyl or coated steel, and we hang the gate so it swings away from the water with the latch out of a small child's reach.
48 inch minimum barrierWith self closing and self latching gates under the residential pool code. Getting this wrong is the most common reason a pool enclosure fails inspection.
Woven wire, field fence, barbed wire, board fence and no climb horse mesh for pasture and acreage around Starr, Iva, Townville and the rural edges of the county. Long runs live or die on corner bracing, because every foot of tensioned wire pulls on the corner post. We brace corners to take that load and set line posts at spacing that matches the animal, not a catalog.
962 miles of shorelineRing Lake Hartwell, and a lot of Anderson County acreage runs down to it. Fencing to a waterline needs different post treatment than fencing a flat pasture.
Walk gates, double drive gates, cantilever slide gates and the automatic operators that run them. A gate is the only part of a fence with moving parts, so it is the part that fails first. The fix is upstream: a gate post sized for the leaf it carries, hinges rated above the gate weight, and a diagonal brace or steel frame so the leaf cannot rack into a parallelogram.
The first thing to failOn nearly every repair call we take is the gate, not the fence line. Almost always the gate post was the same size as the line posts.
Perimeter fencing for warehouses, churches, schools, apartment lines, ball fields and rental property, plus dumpster enclosures, security fencing and temporary construction fence. Commercial work means heavier pipe, thicker fabric and gates built to survive daily use, and it means scheduling around your operation instead of parking a crew across your loading dock.
525,534 peopleLive in Greenville County and another 203,718 in Anderson County, and the commercial property serving them all needs a perimeter that holds up.
Repairs
Most of what we repair traces back to one of eight things. If you recognize your fence below, it is usually fixable without a full replacement.
A leaning fence is a post problem. Either the post was not set deep enough, the hole was too narrow for the concrete to grip, or water collected at the base and softened the ground around it. We can reset individual posts and pull a run back to line without tearing out the whole fence, as long as the rails and pickets are still sound.
Depth over diameterFrost is not the driver in the Upstate. Wind load and saturated clay are, which means post depth and hole shape matter more here than in colder states.
Wood fences fail from the ground up. The bottom board wicks moisture out of the soil, mulch piled against the fence traps it, and the rot spreads into the rail ends. Replacing the affected boards and adding a rot board along the bottom usually buys years. If the rot has reached the posts, replacement is the honest answer and we will tell you so.
Heaviest termite pressure zoneIn the country covers South Carolina under the residential code's termite probability map. Ground contact rated lumber is not optional here.
A gate that dragged in year one was built wrong. A gate that drags in year five has a post that has shifted, hinges that have worn, or a frame that has racked out of square. We reset or upsize the gate post, rehang on heavier hardware and add a brace or a turnbuckle so the leaf holds square through the season.
Most common repair callWe take. One of our Google reviewers put it simply: the fence started swinging off its hinges, and now it functions flawlessly.
Upstate thunderstorms and the occasional remnant of a tropical system take out fence sections every year, usually with a limb. We replace the damaged run, match the existing material and weathering as closely as we can, and check the posts either side of the break, because the impact usually loosens more than it visibly destroys.
Check both directionsThe post two bays away from a fallen limb is frequently cracked at the concrete line even when the fence still looks straight.
Chain link fails in three ways: the fabric rusts through at the bottom, the top rail bends, or the tension has gone and the whole run bellies out. All three are repairable. We can restretch fabric, replace a single damaged section, swap a bent top rail, or convert a tired galvanized fence to black vinyl coated without replacing the posts.
Posts usually outlive fabricOn most residential chain link the line posts are still sound long after the fabric has gone, which makes a partial rebuild far cheaper than a teardown.
Containment is a measurement problem. A digger needs a buried apron or a bottom rail on grade. A jumper needs height, and often a lean in at the top. A squeezer needs tighter mesh than standard field fence. We size the fix to the dog rather than selling the same six foot privacy fence to everyone who calls about a pet.
Three different failuresThree different fixes. Building for the wrong one is why owners end up fencing the same yard twice.
It happens more than people expect, usually when a previous owner or a neighbor built to a guess instead of a pin. If the line is wrong, moving the fence is the only real fix, and it is cheaper to establish the line before the concrete goes in than after. We will walk the pins with you before we quote.
Pins before postsWe would rather delay a job a week while a line gets confirmed than build a fence that has to move.
City of Anderson development standards protect visibility at driveways and intersections, and a fence that blocks that sight triangle has to come down or come shorter. Neighborhood architectural rules add another layer, often on height, material and which side the finished face has to point. We check both before we build.
42 inches to 10 feetAbove roadway grade is the visibility protected band in City of Anderson standards. Nothing solid goes in that window inside a sight triangle.
Why Anderson County calls us
We started in 2018 and we have stayed inside Anderson County and Greenville County the whole time. That is long enough to know which subdivisions have architectural committees, where the clay turns to rock two feet down, and which streets in the City of Anderson sit inside a protected sight triangle. A crew driving in from out of state learns that on your yard, at your expense.
Twenty four customers have rated this business on Google and the average sits at 4.7. The word that comes up most in them is speed: people called, someone came out, and the quote arrived faster than the competition. One reviewer wrote that we came out quickly, assessed the property, and gave the best offer around. That is the standard we are trying to keep.
Anderson County sits on Cecil series red clay, part of a soil group mapped across more than 10 million acres of the Carolina Piedmont. It is dense, it drains slowly, and a post hole in it holds water like a bucket unless it is dug and backfilled properly. We size post depth, hole diameter and concrete to that ground, which is why our fences are still standing straight after the second wet winter.

GREAT company! Great personalities, and fantastic at getting the job done properly, and swiftly. They did a great job fixing my grandmother fence and she's so happy with it. Now the dogs can run freely and happily in the yard. Very hard workers the do an incredible job with great quality.

About the company
Anderson Fence Company started in 2018 with one truck and a simple rule: quote it honestly, build it once, and pick up the phone when somebody calls. Eight years later we have put more than 55 fences in the ground across the Upstate and the rule has not changed.
There is no call center here and no regional sales manager. When you call, you reach the people who will be standing in your yard. When something goes wrong, you talk to the same people. That is the whole reason customers keep writing that we were fast, straight with them, and easy to reach.
We are a service area business, which means we come to you across Anderson County and Greenville County rather than running a showroom you have to drive to. Quotes are on your property, where the fence is actually going.
Service area
We cover both counties end to end, from the Lake Hartwell shoreline to the Greenville city line, plus neighboring Easley and Clemson. If your town is on this list, we will come measure it.
Questions we get asked
Material, height, length and the ground set the price: chain link costs the least per foot, wood sits in the middle, and vinyl, aluminum and steel cost the most up front.
Call and we will give you a ballpark range in about 3 minutes, then put the exact number in writing after a free on-site measure.
South Carolina has no statewide fence permit and no state height limit. Those rules are set locally, so the answer depends on whether your property sits inside city limits, in the unincorporated county, or inside a neighborhood with its own architectural rules.
The rule that catches people most often is visibility. City of Anderson development standards protect sight lines at driveways and intersections, and nothing solid can sit between 42 inches and 10 feet above roadway grade inside those protected areas. We check the local requirement for your address before we build, and we will tell you if your plan needs adjusting.
Most residential yards are a one to three day job once we start. Chain link goes fastest. Wood takes longer because it is built board by board on site. Vinyl and aluminum sit in between.
The bigger variable is the gap between quote and start. We book work in the order it is confirmed, so the honest answer on timing comes when we have seen your yard.
Most South Carolina jurisdictions expect a fence to sit at least a foot or two inside the property line, and some allow you to build right on it. The safe move is to know where your pins are before anyone digs.
If you are not sure where the line runs, tell us at the quote. Building a fence and then moving it is the single most expensive mistake in this trade, and it is entirely avoidable.
Powder coated aluminum and heavy wall vinyl last longest with the least attention, because neither rots and neither needs refinishing. Ornamental steel lasts as long if the coating is maintained.
Wood can last a long time here too, but only if it is sealed. Anderson gets about 48 inches of rain a year, ten more than the national average, and bare wood in that much moisture greys, cups and eventually rots. A stained wood fence outlives an unstained one by years.
We repair. Leaning posts, rotted boards, storm damage, sagging gates and torn chain link are all everyday work for us, and a repair is often a fraction of the cost of replacement.
We will also tell you when a fence is past saving. If the posts have gone, patching the pickets is money you will spend twice.
Every town, city and unincorporated community in Anderson County and Greenville County, plus neighboring Easley and Clemson. That runs from Townville and the Lake Hartwell shoreline across to Greer and Travelers Rest.
Nothing inside those counties is too far. If you are just outside them, call anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
We take calls from 6am to 9pm, seven days a week, including weekends. In most cases we can be at your property within a couple of days, and quoting fast is the thing our Google reviewers mention more than anything else.
